Hello Everyone,

 Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving here in the US. For those in other locals, I hope this finds you well also!

I've been working on several things and again keep forgetting to share. Here is my latest project. It has been wonderful thinking of Christmas and why we celebrate. I can't help thinking of how much Christ loved us. Knowing ahead of time what it would cost Him. Yet because of Love, He came just for us, for me.

With much love I made this ornament with a battery tea light candle inside.   I have to make the hanger yet.   I'm entering it in the PTT192  challenge  Here!

Also entering in this challenge Here!

Don't tell anyone, it may be for their Christmas! Blessings!

Here is a project I've been working on!

I am delighted that I'm able to use it as a special album for a friend.  It is a made from a template I purchases from Kathy Orta at PaperPhenomenon.com.  This "classic handbag" style album has been wonderful to make.  I hope to show pictures of this when done.  Thank you for looking.

Have a great day and may God Bless You specially!!

Construction Going On

With all the art journaling going on, I wanted to share a file that I was working on.  With rough sided bricks and patches of plaster or mortar scraped over the crumbling bricks in places, this makes a very textured background. A crumbling castle wall, a sun decked wall with a gecko sprinting up down and side to side, or an inner city wall with graffiti painted and scratched into the surface.

You will have an easy time cutting this as a stencil and the ADDED BONUS, of creating an embossing folder or bricks to put right on your project.

The great part of using a cutter file is you decide what you need.  The size you want.

I also sell this in my Etsy store already done for you in a 5.5 x5.5" size.

Now some notes:

1.  Making a stencil normally means making it out of plastic. Stencil plastic is relatively inexpensive from your local department stores.  Using a large enough  piece of packaging plastic, a cereal box, or any box that isn't too thick for your cutter will also work. (Free also, Yahoo!) I have also used the plain old card stock for stencils that I don't mind cutting out another time. I then don't have to store them.  They are naturally distressed from using as a stencil and I will then use the stencil by attaching it to the project.

2. Keeping the pieces in the right spots??  HOW????  You may use transfer tape or drywall tape  after weeding the negative part (the part that the bricks were cut out of) away from the bricks.

Note, if your bricks aren't thick enough when embossing, put on another layer. Place the negative side on also, adding to the depth of the piece that will receive the bricks if you are making an embossing

3.  The No. 2 note works for several applications.  Using the bricks directly on the project or making an embossing folder.

This photo is of a piece of white card stock with a black object showing through the cuts.  Don't you just love this.  To be able to make my own designs at any size I need. Layouts, Cards, and of course the school Castle project!!

Better late than never!!!

Isn't this wonderful?  A wonderful friend of mine took a couple digital stamps I designed and made this wonderful card awhile back.  I wanted to say thank you and let you all see there is a lot I haven't shared.

Here is the inside of the card.

Wouldn't this be a great card to share!

Here is are a few sketches I did for my sister.

These pictures aren't great.  My camera is on loan and my lighting isn't good.

Everyone seems to have a favorite. Some I am not quite satisfied and yet they are the ones loved. My sister asked for four 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch artwork to group and hang in her house. She wanted birds she might see on her walks. I'm so glad she asked.  Done on watercolor paper and just a regular pencil.  It was fun.

Which one is your favorite??

I'm finally connecting!

It is always a struggle for me to post.  Sometimes I don't have the picture available, or I think about it and then forget (old timers setting in? LOL,) or most generally I'm not sure that I'm really that interesting!  I'm ordinary, even if now disabled. I just don't have much excitement.  But, I'm usually happy and always grateful. I'm happy to take your prayer requests and honored to go before The Lord with those requests.

So now to share a little crafty goodness and to hear some of yours!

On Oriental Scrapping Yahoo Group a wonderful lady made this observation.  And because I don't do this much, I forgot to write her name down. Please forgive me for that.

7)  Don't disregard some of the 'kid' or 'student' lines made by some of the bigger art supply manufacturers.  Did you know that the gel sticks made by Faber Castell are the same as gelatos?  I know because when they were introduced at CHA a few years back, I asked a representative what the difference was.  In a nutshell?  The gelatos are color coordinated and part of their mixed media system.  You're paying for the matching of certain colors and the specialized color palette.  Now the difference is that gelatos have more colors to choose from.  If you just want basics, buy the kid ones, they are the same (I have some of the first gelatos and they aren't even marked differently on the tube from the gel sticks--I've since forgotten which is which and cannot tell them apart).  The colors in the kids line are acid free and 'color fast' and at one time had the *exact* same write up as the costlier gelatos.  F-C isn't the only company to do this; look for a sale and try a 'kid' brand now and again...you could be pleasantly surprised :)

With money being tighter for most of us, I thought about this and have found less expensive alternatives on some things too. I hope that this helps you discover ways to save money in different areas of your life.

I'm hoping to post more regularly to help me accomplish some goals.  Please pray toward that!   And thank you!
